Hard Work Doesn't Go Unnoticed

I have been in school for 21 of the 26 years of my life. One thing that I have learned over all these years is that hard work usually pays off. I don't necessarily mean in the traditional sense (usually that is true too -- hard workers usually get good grades) but more so for self-gratification. I am currently attending university in a fairly demanding program. Most of my free time is spent doing homework, reading and solving assignments. At times I wonder if I am missing out on life. But then, after hours of work -- I often reach the "light-bulb AHA!" moment and everything is worth it. People who don't spend the time on the homework and cheat off others or just don't put in the time, don't get to feel the wonderful feeling of truly understanding the material and figuring out on their own. Sometimes we need help and that is ok, but it is worth the time and effort to try it out first and the gratification of knowing that you did everything you could to expand your mind.
