I Am Too

I think that there are a lot of movies around these days that are bloody and gory and explicitly violent without there being any real need or cause for it in the plot. That is if they even have a plot in the first place. I am not a fan of horror movies, although I respect their place in the library of genres. This being said with all the violence and hurt, war and sadness in the world, I would have thought people had had enough of this horror in real life.

Amen Waiwera. Video games are also to blame in this saga of increased violence as they desensitise people to the realism of what the actions in real life can cause. Hey, if you can bash the crap out of someone in a game, why can't you do it in real life.
It scares me to think of some people in this world with this attitude.

I have said it before, and I'll say it again: "What you place your attention upon, you become"... or experience, especially if you do it often enough.
I think many people don't mind seeing violence and war as long as it isn't happening to them. But we create and program our own reality! People.... what are you DOING to yourselves???
The movie people make these films because they sell; its the viewers who must think what they're doing and cease to support such movies, if a change is to be made. So few people except the sensitives among us realise that at every showing of such a film, the atmosphere for miles around is saturated with the sounds and mental thoughtforms of violence - and that is bombarding all the children and adults in the neighbourhood with this crap. It is not a healthy environment to take in and especially grow up in. It means that youngsters take it for granted that that is a "normal" and inevitable part of life - it is only so because we make it so. If that kind of behaviour as depicted was looked down upon as beneath contempt by the general society, it would disappear very quickly.

so true....i dont watch violent movies...i dont want to feel sick or depressed
i like movies that make me feel good that take you on an emotional rollercoaster
unfortunately they pay the actors ridiculous money and spend millions on special effects....and wont spend money on good writers
