aren't we all?

aren't we all, if not for a short time and several times throughout life disillusioned?

as i've travelled through this life i've slowly come to realize that everything i once stood firmly on has since been overturned. hence the things i believe today, i will inevitably end up not believing tomorrow.

today it's ideal and tomorrow it ends up untrue for your life. this IS life!

it's a matter of growth and maturity through experience. fortunately i've been through enough of these 'disillusions' which would prove themselves to be just that, 'disillusions' that i rarely stand firmly on anything and i most usually think quite carefully prior to making any decisions of consequence...

i believe it to be a law of physics that if you believe in something so much that you ultimately don't believe it could be any other way, you will be proven incorrect ... equal and opposite reaction ...

Bluebird
there's a bluebird in my heart that
wants to get out
but I'm too tough for him,
I say, stay in there, I'm not going
to let anybody see
you.
there's a bluebird in my heart that
wants to get out
but I pur whiskey on him and inhale
cigarette smoke
and the ****** and the bartenders
and the grocery clerks
never know that
he's
in there.
there's a bluebird in my heart that
wants to get out
but I'm too tough for him,
I say,
stay down, do you want to mess
me up?
you want to screw up the
works?
you want to blow my book sales in
Europe?
there's a bluebird in my heart that
wants to get out
but I'm too clever, I only let him out
at night sometimes
when everybody's asleep.
I say, I know that you're there,
so don't be
sad.
then I put him back,
but he's singing a little
in there, I haven't quite let him
die
and we sleep together like
that
with our
secret pact
and it's nice enough to
make a man
weep, but I don't
weep, do
you?
Sounds about right to me (your assessment of life smacking you around 'til you pay attention), humdinger!

You are a smart cookie, constant. I know what you're talking about, but I've never put my finger on it quite so well.

Seems like life is a great teacher when you pay attention, and it will just keeps smacking you around till you do if you fail to pay attention.
