I recently started watching an episode of Criminal Minds. The violence in the first five minutes wasn't exactly slaughterhouse. In fact, there was no physical violence at all. A woman suffocated inside a sealed box. The other person in the room sat behind his desk and timed how long it took for her cries and gasps for air ceased. I couldn't stay tuned after that.
Violence in general bothers me. But it wasn't until I saw Martin Scorsese's "Casino" that I knew, for sure, I couldn't handle anything. I'm too senstive to handle that much senseless brutality. To think that people can be that uncaring and insenstive towards others is a concept I have too much trouble accepting. I don't think everyone has to join in a massive lovefest (actually, that sounds like a lot of fun), but my values and integrity require me to hope there's more nice and caring people than insensitive.
