What Can I Expect Next?

I am a mom & grandma living in Dupage county IL. I have had Hep C since 1995, I am a nonresponder to drugs in 2000,  I was going to start new drugs in May. I tried & could not take side effects, this time. I have advanced Cirrhosis & know I may not make it. I am going to see a transplant doctor in June. I don't know if you can get a transplant with active Hep C. I heard you need to have someone to help you through this process, I live alone & pretty much take care of myself so I don't know how I will do this. My children are grown with their own lifes. I don't know what to expect, what's next?

I have hep c 1b since 1996 age 49 now just got diagnosed with cirrhosis last week

I also have Hep C and type 2 strain. I am a non-responder last month after 6 months of tx which looked promising as it was undetected at one point. It is also cirrotic and the makings of encephalopathy. Does anyone know how long is usual before decomp????

Where are you being treated ? Do they say anything about last years new drugs for hep c?

i am going through the same thing. it's scary. but i have a kid to put through this too. good luck to you!
