Emotionally Retarded !

I find myself even within my own family in situations where I am totally detached, emotion just doesn't come out it never has, I can see the events unfolding infront of my very eyes but it's like I don't care.

Is this normal it must someone somewhere must have had these things happen to them ?

knowing that you're in a situation where you should feel a certain way but the feeling just doesn't seem to come out.

I've been in situations where my whole family is grieving or excited but i just couldn't feel the same way no matter how much i tried...i just felt nothing.

Oh,it's all in there...waiting to come out.

I'd agree with what Andrew wrote. If this is a concern, then see your GP or investigate it more. Help is there for so many mental health issues these days, if that's what this is. Otherwise maybe simple counseling may be beneficial. Keep posting and talking about it too. Good luck with it.

Hello. I am not a shrink or a counsellor. So I'll just suggest that you just try "googling" two terms -- "dissociative disorder" and "anhedonia" --, and see whether you think any of that may apply to you.
Please don't read too much into anything you read, or "self-diagnose"; the purpose of this kind of research is to try and get a clue as to what might be happening, so that you can seek solutions.
Take care, you.
Wish I could answer but I don't really understand what you mean. Perhaps just a tiny bit more specific? Don't feel glum, there's fun out there somewhere in the world to care about. :)
