Every since I was young I was fascinated by the world around me and I wanted to be a part of it. And this grew stronger as I watched Captain Planet and Fern Gully while it was fortified when I was watching a show that was talking about the nature spirits on Hawaii. Although I cannot remember much of the show, the story hit home to me.
It was a sacred piece of land but man decided that they were going to try to develop it. Unfortunately everytime they turned around to progress, some force reversed it even to the point where a bulldozer was upended so it was pointing up to the air like a metallic tree.
Since I saw this, I gave myself to Nature and her cycles, learning more about her. I claimed that I was her daughter, anointing myself with dandelion dye and soothing myself that when I cried it would rain for my mother knew what I was going through although she needed me down on this planet for her. And all this brought peace to me.
It was also this experience that brought me to a true understanding of the world, one that some people would claim is Nature's ultimate cruelity as the fawn is devoured by a predator or a rabbit by a hawk. But Nature provides and takes away, she replenishes yet blocks, provides death and yet new life. Who cannot be fascinated by such beauty and wisdom in the "dumbness' of the world surrounding us?
