Will I Be Judged?

I am facing bankruptcy, actually I meet with the lawyer this week and I am scared to death. Due to loss of jobs by my husband and myself we are no longer able to afford much of anything, I was laid off in April of last year for 6 mo, and had to take a 10dollar an hour cut in pay so we could get health insurance, my husband was laid off (partial) in May of last year.

I have been on the phone all day trying to find a lawyer ASAP, as I am being sued. But i'm feeling just so alone and shameful and imbarassed and many more emotions that I can't explain.

Will I be judged by this lawyer for past bill that weren't paid?  Am I going to have to answer for everyone of them?  I'm 50 years old and am probably having to let most everything go back,  I'm just feeling really bad right now, can anyone offer a bit of sunshine in my cloud of greyness.

Thanks for listening

Be thankful for what you do have. The economy is awful.<br />

I think lawyers at this time, in this economy, are so overwhelmed by cases like ours they don't have time to judge. I've seen 2 different lawyers about my case and both of them have been very professional and without any judgement...that I could sense. They may go home to their significant other and joke about the losers they saw in the office that day, but I doubt it. It's just another day in the office to them, and unfortunately they have to deal with very sensitive, emotional people dealing with very hard times. I expect you'll receive more compassion than judgement. Go to your appointment with no apologies for your situation. You are simply doing what you have to do after the unfortunate situation of losing your income!! Good Luck!
