I find the world of ancient egpyt fascinating. the culture and mythology is so unique and complex and yet one can find parallels to most modern religions in their gods and beliefs.The fact that two of their greatest leaders were women is exciting and shows an openness of mind that hasn't been shown in the United States yet...

    They say that Greece was the model of democracy. How wrong they were. Ancient Greece had slaves where Ancient Egypt did not. Women could divorce own their own property and if they chose could live independently from men. Many ancient Egyptians built monuments for their kings in the hope that they could serve them in the after life. Hapshepsut stands out as the most important female queen but I feel that there are more famous women rulers and if there are please list some of them for me.

    The Egyptian army had black, brown, and white officers. People were promoted on their merit and nothing else. One day the rest of the world might learn that. Tim

    So many parallels to modern religions. Some scholars believe most of christianity's beliefs are from Egypt. But this makes sens when you consider the tie in with Judaism.
