I LIKE what you said right at the end here.
I just want to be ok some day I'm going to be and also
    I just have to be!
Possitive things you tell yourself out loud have a great impact on the message you give your brain. Say it many times a day untill you actually start to believe it. There is alot to be said for the power of possitive thinking.
I'm not saying it's a cure but from experience in my life I do know it brings you hope because without hope we have nothing.
Face your dragon and go on.
I wish you as always the best in your future.

I can't understand how people with these mental health issues find the strength to get out of bed each morning and this includes me. I've been to see councillors for years to help me get through all the anxiety, stress, depression and it just gets harder to deal with as the years go by. I've been to see a phicoligist the last 4 mths and I've only now been diagnosed with DID,how you explain your thought processes is exactly how I think, great one moment, worse the next and then lately suicidal. How have you found the strength to cope with this for so many years.God bless you.You need to write a book on how to get through each day.

Wow, you are very kind o///o well, truthfully i have not always gotten help for things like the PTSD or the DID. It has been a huge struggle sometimes...but i like to try to think of the world as a adventure. ever read adventure stories? There are times in it where everything seems hopeless where it feels like there all going to die, and yet they keep going fighting...they face there dragons and they make it through it all despite the odds..and that is what i have always hoped to do...i want to make it...i also have a great fiance who is always here no matter how hard it gets and my friends that are the same...i am not going to hurt them again like i did when i was 16 and they found me nearly dead on the floor they done so much for me like one of them when i used to be haveing a flashback and starting to get hysterical gave me a starburst and told me to suck on it and think of everything that makes now better then the past i do this with candy and tea's and it really helps me. i have other techniques i do too but i dont want this post to get to long ^^'

      Hello Lesley,

It can be overwhelming finding out you have DID and one needs all the support you can get.
I hope you have someone close enough to support you with this condition and would like to say if you have any questions or batteling with a certain aspect of DID I don't profess to have all the answers but I certainly have some. My best friend has DID and over the passed 14 yrs I have sat in her therapy sessions with her and worked hand in hand with her therapist towards her healing.
I wish you well in the months ahead.
