My family left france during the revolution and came to america. Vassuer or Le Vassuer. There were some members of the family that were of nobility Some were not.


Most of them settled in Kentucky and the surrounding areas.

Still doing research, never know what you will find.

Yes, Im aware of the history. I also know what my research so far is telling me. Thank You for the history lesson.

The Huguenots were generally farmers and skilled craftsmen, not noblemen. I suppose you know they were driven from France by Catholics when the Huguenots, or French Protestants, failed to win the French Crown for Henry of Navarre. When he converted to Roman Catholicism this ended the protestant dream in France. Many Huguenots escaped across the Channel to England, but the English were suspicious and encouraged them to move on. They are now scattered throughout the world.
