Sad Day

IF you are from Oklahoma and older than 35, you know who Jack Mildren was.....he was a different person to many, to those older he was one of the great sports hero's for the University of Oklahoma, helping revive the program to promince in the post Bud Wilkinson era.....he was also one of the best athletes of his time....he had some of the same qualities of Mickey Mantle and was an icon to many, yet after his playing days (OU then  Baltimore Colts/Boston Patriots) he began a successful career in politics, becoming Lt. Govenor.  He later ran unsuccussfully against our current Govenor.  In the past 2-3 years he has been an extremely popular sports talk show host ( Oh he was also president of ARvest Bank)...He was 58.........while people die everyday, it is sad to me that someone who contacted so many people on a daily basis is gone...I know it slaps me in the face of what happens to us all, but Jack had just left the air about 2-3 months ago to get treatment for Stomach Cancer and it was supposedly going well.........I for one will miss him, I didn't always agree with his politics and I didn't care if he was a "good guy" to be around, I just know that he brought a lot of knowledge, fun and joy to many who had discovered him on the Radio......
