Yup...got to Tell Mom...or Get House Waterproofed

A personal story in the experience: I Am Gay
I came home today from work- you have to appreciate teaching in an urban environment- your mind is constantly going about a mile a minute and there is enough adrenaline within your system to keep a small city running-

Once again- as I was moving at about a mile a minute and she was kavetching on the phone , the whole "Walton's family" picture came up and somehow I managed to walk past the live tree that I keep in the dining room and water the plastic one that is in the living  room....

So...

A.) It is time to come out- possible approach-over dinner- maybe "I am gay, can someone pass the potatoes?"

B.) Midnight Mass- I can slip it into Ave Maria as the family sings...at least we would remember the date

C.) Throw my confessional into a Christmas Card

D.) Throw mom into the confessional and throw the card in after her

E.) Offer the family to play charades-

F.) Give everyone in the family books by Oscar Wilde for X-MAS

I am breaking this by Christmas-If you live near the East Coast- you will feel a temperature drop of 10 degrees....

Catholic families....ahhh...what an invention that shows us how God has a sense of humor.....

ladolcevita, did you ever wonder why the characters in the movie loved driving their convertables in the dark while wearing sunglasses? That's how coming out to my mom went. I was 18. It's been 20 years now and I think she still hopes its a phase. Please, Catholic family? Try Alabama Church of Christ, Sugar! Unfortunately, I've had an easier time becoming an Episcopalean than in finding a partner. As Scarlet said, tomorrah is anothah day! Speaking of Oscar Wilde books, don't forget...he said "Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken!"

Just remember, even if they don't accept you for who you are, they will always love you. I hope you get through it smoothly.
