In Memoriam

My childhood best friend died last year. She was an artist practically from the womb... She'd done professional designs for Burning Man and Cirque du Soleil in her various incarnations, and was a tattoo artist for the last six years of her life.

She had drawn me out a stylized water-lily, hiding a few special symbols in the pool of water she was going to ink on me....I didn't want some cheesy flash, certianly, and being my closest friend on the planet, she knew exactly what would carry enough weight with me to have it marked on me forever...

Sadly she still had the design...somewhere...and when she died, it died too.

That's okay, I've resigned myself to another drawing, another artist, another tattoo...but she will be in there, somewhere...represented on my skin, like she is in my heart....

Thanks,'s been hard, only getting to talk to her in my mind, but she will always be there, holding my hand. Hugs back, sweetie.
