It Must Be Hard To Live With

The question was

"Why do people have the compulsion to clean?"

I use to visit at my sister's friend's house, until I couldn't stand it any more.

Talk about clean freak.

I was afraid to put down my water glass. Not because I thought it would leave a ring on the furniture. No!!! But if I put it down, she would ****** it up and take it to the sink, wash it and put it away.

If someone leaned their arm on the edge of the kitchen table while visiting, as soon as they moved it, say to scratch an itch,or to brush their hair out of their face, she would get paper towels and Windex and wash where the arm touched the table. Pick up your teacup? The saucer was washed and put in the cupboard before you could put the cup back on it.

Dinner time was hell. As each person finished what was on the plate, she'd whisk their dishes away and wash, dry and put them away. All this was done in between bites of her own dinner, and all before all diners had finished eating. If anything at all fell on the floor, she was up with a broom and a pail of water, down on her knees washing the spot where it fell.

I don't know who I felt sorrier for; her or her husband and kids.
