I Am Going Through a Divorce Right Now

This Just Sux

Finally after a 15 yr marriage of abuse of all kind I finally got the courage to leave ... However I am now faced with a complex and nasty divorce which is going to drag out for months on end ... Why ... I keep asking myself this question ... I know nobody is perfect but I needed to get out if a very miserable and scary situation and now I am the bad guy

    seems to always work that way, just remember what the court or your ex (or attorney) says about you is not who you really are. My separation order was finally signed a couple of weeks ago and the judge and several other people think I'm a horrible person but the people that really care about me are quick to dispute that and that has really helped me out.

      This is so true .. People make their own judgments and I am the fool who despite all the wrong he has done .. I keep defending him .. I married into a high profile family in a small town soo gossip starts quick I don't want to share with anyone local inc. friends about the abuse because I know how this will effect his reputation but now to some I am the wicked wife who is after their money and probably having an affair which both are untrue ! ... What has amazed me is the support I am getting messages via fb ect .. Simply saying they have my back and to just keep strong !

    Youre the bad guy if you stayed . You just want your peace sanity and happiness. Nothing bad about that

    You are not the bad guy. I understand. There is a part of me that will always love my husband, but it is very obvious to me our marriage is 14 years is over. I will be perceived as the unsatisfied woman, but that is okay. My physical and emotional well being is crucial. Yours is too. We can not change our spouses. If the marriage was vital to them, they wouldn't hurt us the way they chose to. Keep taking care of you. You deserve it :-)

      There is not easy way out of this divorce unfortunately ... Well unless I surrender to all their and I mean their as in my ex and his dad as he has been called up as a third party in the case they lie about all financial matters they are also using our two toddlers as leverage ... trying to get sole custody of them which won't happen but I still have to prove to the court that they are not able to do so ... I never did anything wrong I just had to get out for my own safety any to make sure kids don't grow up thinking it was normal to be treated the way I was

      Yeah .. I have a pretty good team .. It's just very emotionally taxing as for some screwed reason I still feel for my ex .. Crazy I know ! But it's just not how I wanted us to end up .. Just saddens me greatly :(

      Yes it is really sad when things go that way...I am sorry for you...hang in there...i'm divorced and it does get easier with time, i promise! :)
