I am going through my husbands first deployment as well. He left for Korea April of this year and came home on leave the first of October and just left last week to go back till April 08. I understand what you are going through. Its just all a shock at first when he first leave's and hard but when my husband came home for leave we only had 18 days together and thoughs 18 days we spend everyday together and enjoyed eachother but it made us realize that we really undstand that we are the perfect match and would never change that. Just hang in there this whole experience will make you a stronger person. "what doesnt ill you will only make you stronger"

I agree with the above comments. Stay busy. Don't watch the news or read the paper!!!! Have fun with friends and family. Cry when you have to, and talk to us. We can help you through it. Cherish the phone calls and letters, and be strong for him.

I'm going through my first deployment too. It's almost over though. He comes home in less than 2 weeks. Best advice I can give you is to keep busy. I know it is easier said than done. But you need to try to keep busy doing things to make the time go by faster. Eventually you start to feel more independent and it gets a little easier. Feel free to write me if you would like to talk.
