Why Has Alcohol Not Been Restricted As It Causes So Many Problems In Society

Im not sure what the level of alcohol abuse, sickness related to alcohol, days off work, relationship problems, in other counties, but a change in just ignoring the irresponsible consumption of alcohol must be looked at.
i believe counties have a limit of legal consumption of alcohol in turns of health or driving. What we need is to issue a card much like a credit card give it to everyone legally allowed to consume alcohol if they wish it, this card will have on its information the legal limit for that country, when you buy alcohol, you need the card, its swiped and the limit reduced by the purchase, once the limit is reached no more alcohol can be purchased, there fore no abuse of alcohol.

We here in America tried to ban alcohol and it caused more problems than it solved. It doesn't work. In fact, we should legalize the other drugs.

OK this one I agree with you on. Alcohol is just as bad as some drugs, its such a major issue in society, the damage it does to individuals, families and the community. The problem is it's still so socially accepted if you ban or even put restrictions on it, people are probably just going to want to do it more.(esp teenagers). I don't know what the answer is though.... More education???

Google "The prohibition in USA" . It was severly restricted in the 1920's/30's in the US and it was a disasterous social experiment. Wonderful sentiment but impractical.

I often get tickled at the way we refuse to legalize pot...even though it helps with a wide variety of medical conditions...and alcohol and cigarettes remain legal. This truly boggles my mind. Last time I checked...alcohol (except for maybe a glass of red wine per day) or cigarettes are not good for the human body when abused...and drive up medical costs substantially in multiple countries each year. I would love to see alcohol restricted...as well as cigarettes for that matter...but there is so much controversy surrounding this topic...I wonder if I will ever see something like this occur in my lifetime. It would be nice...but I'm not holding my breath.
This was an good read. Thanks for posting.
