Grateful is a quality of love . Gratitude is a quality of the heart. It can heighten the quality of life. There is an unexpected and powerful source that comes through the practice of "being" with gratitude. It is something that can take one right to the root of its origin. You can experience a powerful fundamental change. Gratitude is a quality that is inherent in us. When we practice this quality in our everyday life, it forms a basis, a foundation that can favor drastic aspects of our love-root within. It reshapes the way one looks at the world. The practice to focused upon to embody the quality of gratefulness can have just a tremendous power of source that it can bring into ones life.
It can happen in someones life, when struck down with an unexpected onset of illness that results in a disability of some sort in how they function in daily life. This is what happened to me. Experiences with trauma in great loss, in events, prolonged situations can bring on a multitude of different onsets of illnesses. PTSD, Parkinson's disease, Cancer, a variety of Mental and physical illnesses. For me it is bouts of severe depression and due to PTSD, and the start of signs of Parkinson's disease.
At first I became very afraid. I read up on the illnesses I suffer from to educate myself on them. I created a healthy support group around me. I have learned many things that I have implemented in my life these past several years. I am better for it, and I am appreciating so much more now. Through gratefulness my life has transformed. I have learned to love myself, to practice loving-kindness, and to meditate each day.
I get this self-defeating tendency to let negative things in life get in the way of how I think and feel. It leaves no room for whats good and for what works for me. It can even come from thinking too much upon what I absorb from television and newspapers or an unkind word said to me. Just one bad thing to happen and I dwell on it and get very depressed, I begin to have unrealistic fears and my anxiety level rises up. Yet, when I remember who I really am, I improve and practice what I have trained myself in. The practice of loving-kindness and practice of gratitude, I am able to reverse the negative into a positive process regaining a true perspective on life.
The more I find I develop the quality of gratitude within, it changes my life in how my environment responds to me and in how I respond again in kind back to it. It becomes self-perpetuating. I experience a joyful feeling, start feeling grateful even when bad things happen, I am able to bounce back more quickly because I developed an inner sight to see that both good and bad things that happen serve to give me the opportunities to reshape me, enable me, be more stable on a stronger foundation that favors those aspects in my love-root within. I reap the benefit of achieving a peace of mind no matter what comes my way in life.
The gratitude I develop as a quality in my life, is what makes me feel grateful even under adverse situations. I have embraced the inner sight of both positive and negative events and understand the worth of such experiences. It makes me even more able to achieve a peace of mind and calm gracefulness about me and this self-perpetuates within me.
Such practices in many qualities allows me to self-discover more of who I really am within. They bring me out of my limitations of my ego. As my awareness continues to grow I can feel gradually a part of something much larger what ego can limit in me. Here in this human experience on Earth I can still expand within the laws of nature, never zero in this mortal body I live in. The practice in gratitude serves me in such a way that I can keep myself from being self-centered as I become more awake to my place in the universe. I am a spiritual being.
The more I awaken to higher levels of my being, it is gratitude that is the primary quality felt within my love-root that resides in the center of my heart. Perhaps you too have felt that place right in the middle of your chest. Its where I feel my soul that is the absolute essence of what is alive that makes me exist. Consciously being grateful in my daily life, awakens the inner most core within me and I shine out from within as I come in to the light of even higher realms of consciousness of my very being. This brings alive a great feeling of bliss that is ecstatic!
I LOVE to practice many different ways to grow and improve, to use and embody the quality of gratefulness, to experience the important greatness as it is when I practice this wonderful quality each day. Make a habit so its second nature. It really is a sense of peace thats serene, calm, and graceful that you get from the practice of the gratitude consciousness. It is a powerful quality to cultivate within you. It actually does benefit you during the entire day, in your life, in your mind, in your spirit, in your heart, that love-root within you that is so necessary to nurture and grow. Breathe once again of life, bring it fully into your heart, release the self-defeating tendencies you harvested throughout your experiences from the ills of this world. Let go of tension, stress, and worry. Feel it leaving you. This is what the power of gratitude and all what follows that it brings with it for you.
Those who really understand the value of things, persons, in who they really are, who shows gratitude, the understanding of give and take becomes non-existent. One's mentality is reversed. There is no foolishness nor weakness in this. It is the practice in the art of gratitude that can heighten the quality of life.
My wish for you is that you take up the challenge to practice in the quality of gratitude in your everyday life until it becomes a habit, and that you reap the befits it can bring you. Its quite a cleansing experience. Its a form of loving yourself.
