All Alone

I recieved a positive result July 19, 2012. I am scared to death, a little depressed. I have done nothing yet. I don't know what to do. I know noone to talk to. I know I need to start meds, I don't know Dr's here that are educated in HIV here nor know how to find one. I live in the USVI and have noone.

You dont have to be alone..im sure when you have settled down a little from the shock, you will figure out what to do next.Get the information that you need. There might be a support group where you live, search online for it.Stay strong you can do this. All the best

I know you are scared, we all are a little on the inside, but you need to give your self at max a DAY to grieve THEN you need to pick yourself up and go get sum help. The worst thing you can do is NOTHING. You need to either go back to where you were diagnosed and ask for a list of doctors who specialize in HIV/AIDs treatment, the internet has MANY resources, do not forget that there is much funding available for meds as well as the possiblity of disability assistance from the gov
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0001620/ this site has ALOT of info on HIV/AIDS they have some good links to
THe important thing is to stay active and NEVER give up, we are in this together :)
best wishes

I I'm so sorry that you are going through this. don't know where you live, but the local hospital would probably have info. You could also check things on the internet. The public library has a lot of info too. Please don't feel ashamed. there are houses of worships that help people in your situation. Also talk to the place where you found out our diagnosis. Your not alone. God bless. Hug hug
