Don't Worry, Be Happy!

I consider myself a generally happy person. I mean we all have our moments, but for the most part, I'm content. I like to think that I am "Realistically Optimistic" about life...meaning that while I'm aware of the dour realities of life, I refuse to let them hamper me in anyway. I also have learned to just let go of things that I really have no control the past for example.

I figure that, since I am currently not in the possession of a time machine, the only productive choice I can make is to move forward. And, its this realization that, I think, has had the biggest impact on my happiness...once you stop focusing your energy on the negative and unchangeable, your state of mind completely changes...for the better! :)

excellent post!

I understand your point which I also agree with. You can't do anything about your past, but you can look forward to your future. What is really important about that point is to make goals and lay it out 1 step at a time to accomplish them. Like, where do you want to be in 5 yrs and how are you going to do that? I also think stephan has an excellent point. Don't forget to live the moment you have right now, otherwise you won't be living life. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks...and yes, I did!

excellent post! an exercise in self-control that deserves lifelong commitment in order to enjoy daily incremental mastery. it is not about trying to control the environment or any external factors so much as it is about positively altering our own internal environment. (I think this is the point Stephan, The Black Guy has misinterpreted?)

Really not the point of the story.

I completely agree! What is the use in wasting time focusing on that which we have no control over?
