Beating The Odds <3

7 years ago i met a boy who is now my fiance, a great man. We met at the age of 16 while he visited the United States for one year at my school. We became very good friends and after a couple of weeks we started dating against the advice of the student exchange program. We had 9 months to get to know one another until he had to return to Germany. We kept in touch, and managed to survive the first year with emails and one phone call a week. We continued on, traveling back and forth as often as we could, some times seeing each other 2 months out of the year, sometimes only 2 weeks, and even a whole year apart. We began to discuss our future in terms of marriage and after 4 years of being together he proposed :). Now we are in completing the fiance visa he will be coming to the US and by the end of this year we'll be married. It has been a crazy ride but through it all, we have managed to be strong and defy the odds given to us by family, friends and even strangers who knew our story. Distance gave us strength and showed us that our relationship is strong. I feel truly blessed to have such a great man in my life.
