I am a first time military girlfriend and having some trouble. I really don't know what to expect. I love him so much, but having a hard time not having him be by my side everyday. I don't have anybody to talk to about this who can actually relate to the situation I'm in. Any advice?

I know how you're feeling. It's so hard, and most people don't understand the way it feels, even if they say that they do.

Start finding things you love to do to occupy your time when he is gone. He cant be your only source of happiness or your relationship is doomed to fail.

I'm a newbie too! one thing a lot of people tell me is not to waste too much time thinking of him. They say it's best to keep doing what you love, and do it often. It's not always easy, and I know somedays all you feel like you can do is sit around and miss him, but getting up and doing something to get your mind off it (or try to!) helps a little. Feel free to chat anytime(:

I feel your pain. I've been with my soldier 7 months and this is the first time I've been with a military man. The separation is hard. But hold on the the fact that he's coming back! Don't get caught up in the fact that he's gone, because there is nothing we can do about that. Just make sure he knows how much you care about him and how much you support him. Hold onto the happy memories to make it through the rough patches :) You can do this!
