How Can They Judge Him Before They Meet Him?

I am 21 and my boyfriend is 41. We have been dating for 10 months now. I have one child, he has two. He lives in Ohio, and I live in texas. He will be moving to texas in the next year due to our company relocating him. Yes I said "our company". We also work for the same company. They have all been extremely supportive of our relationship, and they are very happy for us. The CEO of our company even made a "public announcement" of our relationship at our national sales meeting this past weekend. I think it is great they are all so supportive. They also see how happy we make each other. I have never felt like this about any one in my past. I am madly in love with him.

My mother on the other hand hates the idea of me dating some one so much older than me. She says things like "we will never support this relationship." "He WILL NEVER be able to be in the same room as many men in our family without it causing a huge problem." I hope one day she will grow to accept our relationship, and support us. In the mean time it hurts me to hear the things she says about it. Did I mention that she refuses to even meet him? I think it is ridiculous she has formed such a strong opinion over some one she has not even met. Has any one else gone through this? I need some inspiration, or a success story!! How did you handle it?

She might be afraid to meet him, cuz she does not want to like him. Give it time, when they see how happy you and your kid are because of him they will come around. :)
