Do It Right!

A personal story in the experience: I Am In Some Aspects a Perfectionist
I guess it can be a good trait or a bad one, depending on who you're talking to. If your like that with everything , you're probably a pretty annoying person. I just don't like to see things done half-assed, I was brought up that way. When I was a child and Mom would give me a chore, she would always say: and if you can't do it right , don't bother!   I've learned over the years that it does pay to do it the right way.

You are right. I find that being a perfectionist can have it bad side. Sometimes for me it's an all or nothing situation.

I know exactly what you mean, organization is not a top skill for me at home. But at work it's one of my top skills. Why is that?

I always find that if you do something right the first time, it saves TONS of time having to redo it countless times later :)

I agree the money helps, but for me it's more of a pride thing. I can remember making next to nothing and still giving it my all. Maybe I don't take enough pride in my house. But then that leads to another story. Thanks for your comment Chiquita.
Heaven...that makes me think of another favorite quote: "If you want it done right, you gotta do it yourself"

feelingroovy- I can relate to this post all too well. I cannot stand myself or anyone else to do a half assed job. Just ask the people I have tried to train at work....I live by the quote 'If you want it done right, you gotta do it yourself'. Once I start something I have to finish it, no matter what!

I definitely empathize and understand the whole "all or nothing" concept, in many ways...

You hit the nail on the head Snow, for some reason though I lack on the finish it thing, but just at home with some projects I've started. I did'nt use to be that way with my house.

Feelingroovy- I admit as I get older it gets harder to complete everything at home that I want to but at work its all or nothing ALL of the time!!

Like you said Marcus, that goes for many aspects in life. Whether it's in a relationship, parenting, school or profession. Sometimes you only get one shot at it.

Well, Groovy, I think there are some things you just have to let go of, in the grand scheme... For instance, folding towels. I was always very particular about how the towels were folded, so of course, I was the one who folded them all the time. It dawned on my one day that it does not matter, they will fuction the same regardless and now I am perfectly happy whenever someone folds towels other than me, no matter how they sit on the shelf. Hugs, Hon. :)
