I Love India But I Hate Many 'indian' Things

As this group says, I love india just like others but the only difference is that India is not perfect and I hate its bad things, and I am not afraid to say it.

Why do we say, we are the best? How can we be superior to someone? We say we had technology back in those ancient days, but we were not alone to have this. even China and Egyptian civilization had these talents. It has been historically proved.

And the ancient indians were not visionary. those good things were applicable only for those days, not in today's era. Why our society was divided in different communities? Why there are four varnas and many casts? Can't everyone be equal? Didn't they know that by doing this, they were planting the seed of conflicts in the future indian socity? How can we possibly achieve or even dream of growth when we ourselves are not united. Some say, Lord Krishna has created this system. They are WRONG. God cannot divide in his own children. DO parens treat their children differently? No. It's a man-made thing.

We say, westerners are racist. but the truth is we are the extremely racist people in the world. We outcasted our own people because they were of different race i.e. cast. Why? Who decided that brahmins are intelligent and not others? on what basis?

Mahatma Gandhi himself said that the racism in Sounth Africa was the result of own sins. we don't treat our own brothers as equal, how can we expect a better treatment from others? ( please see Gandhiji's autobiography)

what about superstitions? Scriptures said River Ganga or Ganges is so holy that if we bathe in it or drink its water, our all sins will be forgiven. Any water or person cannot forgive your sins except for your own good deeds. and after that all people polluted the "Holy" water of Ganga. If somethins is holy, then people should not be permitted to enter it. Right? Do we enter temples withe footwares? no. Then how can we bathe ourselves in Ganga? if today, anyone steps into ganga, I don't about sins, but he will surely die of diseases.

We do Hom Havans. Why everything is so complicated? Why the priests have to say the Mantras to do something? Are they agent of God? Everyting depends on our own intentions. if you are a good person, no need of such agents or any puja.

I love wedding procedures in western civilizations. There are very few people and it's quite simple. WHy do we have to keep it so lengthy? Why are indian women so obsessed with gold and waste our precious resources?

How can india be Great when there is huge pollution, population explosion, corruption, poverty? I agree british sucked our resources. but We had enough to build our empire back. Look at HIroshima and Nagasaki. Can anyone believe those cities were completely destroyed?

We are no longer safe. these politians are not going to save us. They didn't save those who died in terrorists attacks, didn't even give money to their family members. those poor souls are still waiting.

When we say 'I love india' what does it mean exactly? that we love these things? Why do my own fellow indian brothers ignore that people are dying here?

When we keep silence about our own problems, when we vote criminal politians (Each and every politian is a criminal, it's not they all have criminal records, but not using citizens money properly is a CRIME), we are actully making india sink fast. Does anyone know that we are pay taxes to have better roads, 24 hr electricity. DO we get it? Do we get tax reduction? ISn't it our right? I saw many people die because there were no street lights? Will their family members love india? If you cannot answer this question, please ask those people who have lost their loved ones in this struggle to live life here.

I know you all have ideas to improve this situation. I have too. but we can't change anything. That's so bitter truth. If you become a leader and try to improve things here, you will be shot next day. Remember Manu, Shetty? They died because they tried to reveal the corruption. Our government could not protect them? IS THIS THE THING TO BE PROUD OF? How can you say 'I am proud to be an Indian'

India will never be a superpower in 20 years. Being a superpower doesn't mean only malls, rich complexes, tall buildings. We can't reduce tis gap between the poor and the rich. I read a personal blog of a friend of one great leader who I will not name here. He told his fried that till this corruption is there, india will never rise. and that person tells in the media the opposite. It's to encourage people, to give them hopes when there is none. We have to accept it. For how many days, are we going to belive in illusions and promises? Why are we afraid of accepting the truth? To accept our mistakes is the first step to improvement.

I don't believe in any religion, any caste. I only believe in humanity and some supernatural forces.

I love our glorious history, culture. Our great people, freedom fighters, our used-to-be family system. but I will never support bad things, injustice. because I believe that supporting what is wrong is THE GREATEST CRIME.

Don't just say we love India, please improve india.

Please make it a better place for our future generations. I feel sad when I think of what future these small children will have to face. Believe me, if we don't do it now, there is only darkness, and india will sink in it. It's not my opinion, it's the opinions of wise people and scientists.

Hello SIR! Please allow me to VERY RESPECTFULLY disagree, SIR! i owe most of what i am to an INDIAN MAN, my MASTER, (and HIS family). HE made me acept what was me destined to become long time ago and HE tought me how to become proud of what i am.I had been 3 times taken to INDIA (Punjab) by HIM and one time by HIS SON recently and only met many so people which i had most RESPECT for !!THANK YOU SIR !!

When one wants freedom and respect it helps everyone.

Most of the communities in India (such as Bengali), are succumbed in 'Culture of Poverty'(a theory introduced by an American anthropologist Oscar Lewis), irrespective of cl-*** or economic strata, lives in pavement or apartment. Nobody is at all ashamed of the deep-rooted corruption, decaying general quality of life, worst Politico-administrative system, weak mother language, continuous absorption of common space (mental as well as physical, both). We are becoming fathers & mothers only by self-procreation, mindlessly & blindfold. Simply depriving their(the children) fundamental rights of a decent, caring society, fearless & dignified living. Do not ever look for any other positive alternative behaviour (values) to perform human way of parenthood, i.e. deliberately co-parenting of those children those are born out of ignorance, real poverty. All of us are being driven only by the very animal instinct. If the Bengali people ever be able to bring that genuine freedom (from vicious cycle of 'poverty') in their own life/attitude, involve themselves in 'Production of Space' (Henri Lefebvre), at least initiate a movement by heart, decent & dedicated Politics will definitely come up. - Siddhartha Bandyopadhyay, 16/4, Girish Banerjee Lane, Howrah-711101.

truth is always bitter my friend. It's difficult to accept but for how long will you run away from truth and facts?

Of course, I will say why there is population explosion. God doen't create population, it's us who don't realize the consequenses of it. so you say, this injustice is right because of our population?

Just don't shout(as you did in yur comment)mr.livinghope. When the population is about 150 crore
you can not expect much more.
Now you definetely (may ) say that why so much population?

Well said. I've never been to India but I have a lot of friends with Indian backgrounds. I've learned a lot from them and sincerely I respect this culture but it's also true certain things could be improved. Like for any culture in fact.
So I think it's really admirable that you are fighting for the betterment of your country.

Actually its more like we are fighting against each other. People just love voicing out their comments on the internet but for real, no one really does anything. And yea you will meet Indians everywhere, but the real Indians who experience who face all these day to day life in India will know what India is really like. No one will accept you are from a different community. No one will be on your side how much ever right you are. People will pass comments and stare at you and pass comment on you, right on your face. Even if you are quietly sitting in a corner of a train. That's how people are here. I stay here and I know. All I'll say is, be happy you are not born and Indian and you donot live in India. I'm just being honest. Most people won't be but I'm not scared to tell the truth.
