I Have No Confidence In My Point Of View

It's so stressful when you have no confidence in your perspective. When I argue with someone, I need someone else to take my side and confirm that I am right. This is because I'm always unsure that my viewpoint is correct.  If I don't get someone else's support I will second guess myself and give into other people's point of view and then later on resent them for stepping over my boundaries.

Does anyone else suffer from this?

I am exactly like this. Personally, I think I do it because I'm looking for truth. I expect everybody else to play fair, so I must make absolutely sure I am on the side of truth. I don't want to be proven wrong, because that would mean I'm not playing fair. So, whenever something is not absolutely 100% logically obvious, I fail to stand my ground. I think the problem is that other people don't want to play fair and don't care if they're on the side of truth. They just want to win the argument - to make it LOOK like they're right.

If this is how you are, then maybe this will help you see the positive side of it. Correct me if I'm wrong. (See... I'm not confident in my assumptions about you, either.)

You are most welcome, and a wonderful human. You care, and we don't want such people to hurt when they can help others with similar problems. You will be a witness for others, and yourself.

Thanks for your input Zephyrmr!! Your post made a lot of good sense.

"I need someone else to take my side and confirm that I am right. This is because I'm always unsure that my viewpoint is correct."...Key part of that statement is.."my viewpoint"..No one can decide if your point of view is correct or not..it's yours. *smile*
