I'm Irish and I could safely say that it is the best or at least my favourite country in the world, and I travel a lot. Yes, we have bad weather and worse politicians but there's something about our country that makes it great, either the scenery, our history or maybe just the people who are almost always friendly and not particularly judgemental.

We may not have been involved in great wars or had an empire in the past but we survived English rule for almost 800 years, for such a tiny country I'd say that's quite a feat.

Yes our country has its problems but its pros make up for it's small amount of cons. I think most people will agree with me when I say that for some reason or many, that you can't quite properly put your finger on, we're proud to be Irish.

I'm really only writing this because I've been in America recently, that made me realise how good a country ours is.
