After Approximately Six Years, Just Frustrated!
I've been studying Spanish from my first year of high school till college. In college, there is less emphasis in speaking in comparison to writing. Whenever I'm forced to speak in class, my heart begins to race and I choke up. This shouldn't happen to someone who has been learning for so long. I'll be graduating soon, but I truly do not want to give up on my goal of becoming fluent. It will scare the crap out of me, but the only way to rise above this plateau is to expose myself to the language more. I will either have to find the money to travel to a foreign country or find more Spanish-speaking friends, which, considering my shyness, will be just as hard as saving up for the travel expenses.
