Well I Never Prayed But Tonight I'm On My Knees

This was my good buddy's favorite song, or one of them at least. Every time it came on he'd belt it out as he was driving, or we both would. He always said it just made sense to him, he connected with it, although I can't remember exactly how he put it. He wasn't always so eloquent with words and he made a few mistakes here and there, but after a while it just becomes funny and you just know that's part of who he is, it's one of those things that sets him apart from the next guy.
Had I had a chance to help out with the funeral, I mean, after being best buds for over a decade, ya think that I might have, other than being invited to it. And I think that was a stretch for the family, somehow I think I was there just for show. Whatever, that part doesn't matter. They played crap music at his funeral instead of things that he would have actually liked, nothing about it screamed my best bud. If I had been in charge of the tunes, this would have been one of them.
I don't listen to this song often, it's too hard to, but today I listened and, well, started seeing myself. I'm just not sure what to think about it yet.
