On Being Alone In a Crowd

I've been alone for so long that I've grown pretty used to it. I spend quite a bit of time by myself, driving around, hanging out at the beach, or at the cafe, or maybe even hiking. I think the thing that unnerves me the most is when I'm in a group of people, particularly if I don't know them well. I think that's the loneliest feeling, being in a crowded room and not feeling comfortable talking to anyone, and just sort of standing in the corner watching other people have fun.

I once considered traveling to alaska and purchasing a remote place where I could be alone. I sometimes feel my life would be perfect if it were just me and my dog.
