Yes, of Course. ...

Yes, of course. It's the nature of humans to feel lonely at times and it's not always a bad thing. I can feel more lonely among a group of people than alone.  Loneliness is a feeling not a space.

I've always been a loner ... and was always at peace with loneliness ..... until i met and lost my best friend .... the loneliness suddenly became unbearable ...

After a couple of bad experiences, I stay away from people more than I should. Some of this causes my own loneliness, but sometime I can't be with people because of being afraid the same thing will happen again.

I don't think I have ever been lonely around friends and family but living in Los Angeles you can be lonely in a big city.

I think that is the hardest part for me.... once I feel lonely reaching out and risking rejection as well... Even if it isn't rejection but the time someone might have...

Definately, but being surrounded by people that you care about can help you get your head out of that space if you actively engage them in conversation or activities that help to foster a spirit of togetherness. At least sometimes. :)
