Lost On Life's Off-roads.
It seems I've lost my itinerary. Actually, I'm not sure it was ever in my possession when I manifested here in life. It must be left behind with my identity, navigational tools and road map. I'm not sure its at all possible to retrieve these items nor are they something I could possibly acquire from anyone else. I've even searched Ebay and no one is selling. Where am I supposed to be and when? How do I get there? Where do I even begin? Is it too late to even bother now?
It seems I can't even speak the same language as any of the other existents around me which makes asking for assistance frustratingly difficult. It's just as well since they all seem so harried in their quests. They happen to be in possession of their itineraries and know just what to do and where to go. They are on missions and I'd only get in the way and hinder their progress. Why should they suffer for my cluelessness?
I envy their apparent competence and unshakeable confidence. I wonder if I would be able to keep pace with them if I had my itinerary with me? I doubt it. Besides, all of that constant hard-driving focus seems so exhausting. Don't they ever stop? I'd surely be left far in the dust anyway!
I have actually grown rather adept at attemting to find my own way. I still haven't the foggiest notion of my whereabouts or the best routes to take, but I have seen some amazing sights and stumbled into some unforgettable adventures along the way. I suppose that when lost, one's environs can be scary and forbidding, yet they can also be full of unexpected fun and adventure if one chooses to explore them a little.
I'm doubtful that there is any hope of ever being reunited with my itinerary. Being lost in life's wild places so far away from the herd makes me wonder who would bother to try and find me if they were to find it? They have missions, remember. But, if you happen to stumble upon it along your way, I'd be so grateful if you would kindly hold onto it for me! I'll be right along to pick it up so I can finally have some clue about life and set to work on it straightaway...just as soon as I've finished exploring the trails less travelled.
