I Am Married

I was married just last week.  Kris and I did it in  a town in a neighboring state where Lesbian and Gay marriages are legal... we had everything ready, Kris had researched this carefully.  We had waived the three-day waiting period.

We got up early, showered and each wore a sun dress.... we exchanged engagement rings at the Town Hall.  We filled out the application, paid our fee ... and are legally married.

Wife and Wife.

Spouse and Spouse.

Full Partner and Full Partner.

We had lunch in the town and then drove home.  That night we made love for the first time as married women.

We actually consider this our engagement... we will have a church service in about two months... a Blessing of a Civil Marriage, and that will be our true ceremony.

Thank God for so many good people who have made this possible, who have changed antiquated laws and allowed two women in love to be married.

    I voted against Prop 8, and will do so again if necessary. One day this will all be ridiculous nonsense, just as we now consider the laws in California that once restricted a non-chinese from marrying a chinese. It's silly and sad, and it's only a matter of time. Why must angry and frightened people continue to fight against a person's right to marry who he or she wants to marry? In the meantime, I'm glad you got married in another state, and hopefully we'll fix this before long.

    what that mean of wife to wife, spouse to spouse, full partner and full partner. I'm not alien but from East and wanna know exact meaning of these terms.

      I'm not sure what translation you need, but because you have some English knowledge, I can use other English terms to help you understand. These are two women, who have joined together under law a union of their love and commitment to each other. And they describe themselves as Wife and Wife. With all the sharing and joys that this brings to them.
