I Got Married At 18

I met my husband when i was 14 but i never would give him a chance, after a broken heart he talked me through it an I just relized how nice a guy he was so at 16 we strated dating he was so amazing to me he moved in with me an my mom, helped me through so many hard times with her (bipolar and alcoholic) he promised me he would get me out of there and he did he asked me to marry him and 3 days after my 18th birthday we got married so we have been together 5 years now an he still suprises me with how amazing he can be. I love him with all my heart I think I got extremely lucky and my favorite part is to all the family that judged me when he moved in at 16 an said i would get knocked up or when i got married at 18 an said i was probably knocked up guess what fam im still not pregnant an I did finish school and im still happy with my choices. Just because some people cant handle marriage at a young age dosent mean we all cant.

    Your story really has made me feel much better of the fact that i got married at 18. I just got married about two weeks ago to my boyfriend of 3 years. Everyone judged us for being too young and i was starting to agree with them, but I know that our love can overcome anything and anyone and reading your story just reassured me of that.

    I agree I was you 25 years ago. Wasn't always perfect or easy. But worth every minute. Still married with grand kids. Just gotta be honest and want it. And forgiving and loyal.

    That's exactly why I wanted to write my story :) my family still waits for me to mess up. I guess theyll get it one day.thanks for understanding

    My mom got married to my passes away dad like when she was almost 17 or 18 years old i guess lol :P, so they last for like until 2003 as that is the year my dad died in, so i guess that in every situation circumstances always show or make things last if both can do sacrifice, mom did a lot of sacrifices, and for real God bless your man for helping your mom out an dyou as well.

    we got married at 13 and lived with my wifes mother and shared the house we paid 1/3 the hosing cost and we all had a great time they my wife was killed at 19 and our mother took her own life

    True enough that not everyone falls into the typical patterns. It just goes to show that you can't judge someones motives and actions without listening to them and getting to know them and what's going on. Family are sometimes the worst offenders about not knowing what is going on.
