I Am Monogamous

Has It Died?

I am 100% monogamous, I never cheat, and who I am with I am with them for life... unless they cheat on me or is abusive. In that case, I still won't cheat, but will dump them right away! BUT, many others have told me (over and over) that my way of being loyal and expecting it back in return is "unrealistic for the times". Has monogamy died? I hope not... or I am so screwed! :-(

    You are not alone- monogamists are still out there but very hard to find, whether by nature or rarity. After 35 years of adult celibacy I can attest to that fact- however monogamy is even becoming rare among baby boomers-born before the "sexual revolution" took hold and spread after the 50's. The world is full of serial daters

    and I suspect the logarithmic jump in dissatisfaction with the heartbreak akin to that way of life will breed more monogamists in the future- especially as people get older and want desperately to find trustworthy mates. Have faith in monogamy- eharmony and a lot of other cyber sites are making a good living off the attractions of monogamy. Just protect your heart and be selective- there are still good men out there (and ladies as well)!
