I Often

act simple. People seem dumbfounded when they ask me a question and I reveal deep understanding of their issue or topic. Yet they themselves had revealed it to me. I don't necessarily think that I am very good at observing... I think that most people are just very bad at it.

I don't look for things either. That is one of the things people do when they want to be seen as a good observer, but it doesn't really aid in the observation. If you strain to see something more clearly, does it actually become clearer? If anything it will become more obscure, out of focus. There is also the very overlooked fact that by trying to observe, you judge everything as being worthy of observation or not. And that is the exact opposite of what a good observer does. He simply observes without reservation, without trying.
