People Don't Think I'm Muslim

im muslim, but people dont think that cuz i like wearing short sleeves and shorts. i dont wear my hijab. im still not sure if i want to though (im only 13. i got time to think). the thing that seriously urks me is that people dont realize im islamic so they will talk crap about muslims right infront of me. i'll look at the person like "what the hell?" everywhere i go i gotta notify someone that im muslim and that annoys me. i have muslim friends and i get jealous cuz look at them and then look at me. if u compare us; u wouldve thought i was christain or jewish or whatever cuz i dont dress like an islamic girl. i keep my modesty though. i dont let people violate me like some of these fast heifers i see

    so instead of talking badly of you behind your back they did it in your face. Ignorant people will remain ignorant people no matter how you dress.



    You can do your best to tell of the great parts of your religion but they probably think little of all religions anyway. Keep being a good kindhearted Muslim and don't let anyone get to you.



    People can disagree with religions but being utterly disrespectful and derogatory is unacceptable.

    I am a muslimah convert or revert however you like. And being in a country that hates muslims I understand what you mean. I cover most of the time Islamically but not at times of my own choice no one elses. I was told we are to cover but it has never been forced on me. I was also told that I will have to answer to Allah. I think with this in mind that we all should be able to make our own choices. I like how well seq2302396 put it. "That is between you and yourself and shound not be used to determine your Islamic character" Masha Allah Beautiful. Stay true to your faith and show them how true muslims and muslimahs are. They will loose in the end, the ones that have such hatered in there hearts.

      Mashallah, I think you are a very strong person who has a good heart! I know how it is growing up around people that aren't Muslim, it's not always easy. What helped me was actually getting Muslim friends an hanging around them, because Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said that you become who your friends are. May Allah swt make you a reason for the ummah to be proud! Ameen!
