Working On It

No one could ever tear me down as hard or as much I do myself. The first thought that comes to mind when something goes wrong is one of self-degradation. I find that I blame myself for everything that happens.
I know that most of the time I am just repeating the words of my family. I need to break that mindset. I am trying to change that type of thinking, but it takes time.

A man should uplift himself by his own self, so let him not weaken this self. For this self is the friend of oneself, and this self is the enemy of oneself.

The self (the active part of our nature) is the friend of the self, for him who has conquered himself by this self. But to the unconquered self, this self is inimical, (and behaves) like (an external) foe.

Thank you for the quote. It's rather eloquent. Thank you for reading my story and for the link as well.
