Proud To Be First Nation

I recently returned to school after many years of addictions. I have been in recovery for 6 months now and one of the classes i am taking is exploring aboriginal communities. In this class we are required to make a srapbook of our families personal histories. All I really know is that my Mothers father was an Engineer in the US army and that he met my grandmother in Ft.St. John B.C. while the US army was building the Alaska Highway from Dawson Creek B.C. to Anchorage Alaska and that their is Choctaw Native in our blood. I know nothing about the Choctaw Natives and I am trying to trace back our heritage and this is the first site I came upon. I live on Vancouver Island BC Canada and I am eager to learn more!
