My great-grandmother's 'surname' was Lightheart. I have no clue where that belongs or when. I keep looking for more information, but I get nowhere. I have heard that there is more native in my genes then what I know.

I do remember having a shield of sorts made for me when I was a child. I still have it, but it's in the closet now. The central items on it where a pure white rabbit skin and an eagle feather. I have no clue what that is all supposed to mean either. I do know that some of my ancestors where the first to set foot on this land. I am happy this way.

I did some more research and come to find out I am very very Cherokee. I don't even look that native, but apparently I am! My father is is at least 1/2. For years I thought he was just very tan. Well, he is tan....naturally. My mother, also come to find out, is at least 1/4 Blackfoot. Very very interesting developments. However, I still haven't found any new information on the surname 'Lightheart'. With all of this native blood, one would think that I have beautiful dark hair and glowing tan skin. I'm the exact opposite. I'm pasty white with reddish blond hair and blue/green eyes.

People are beautiful in every color, though, and I believe that from the bottom of my heart.
