My now husband and I have been together a little more than 7 years. When I tell people this the common response is "wow..you're patient! Finally you guys are getting married" lol...what they don't realize is we were only 16 when we met, he was in the United States for 9 months before he had to return home to Germany. So for these 7 years we have been in a long distance relationship, we relied on phone calls, letters, internet, webcams, etc. We took the summer off from school almost every year, so that we could be together for some time in the year. Now we are done with school ( I still have about a year), we got his fiance visa approved.....and yes...FINALLY on December 11th 2010 we were married :). We're excited to see what this new chapter in our lives will bring... :D

    I'm glad to hear that our story lifts your spirits. My family is from Mexico..so there is something going on between Germans and Mexicans lol...I wish you both the best!

    OMG i'm so happy for you, my boyfriends from Germany too and we've been making our relationship work for almost a year and half now, i'm from Mexico and we both met on a summer camp at Canada and have been dating ever since. Your story let me know that im not the only one hopelessly in love with someone living so far away. And i really hope that all goes well for my bf and I so one day we can marry too.
