Diamonds Are Overrated

I am by no means a romantic.  I am just not into it.  I never have been.  I am more of a down to Earth, laid back and practical person.  I would rather spend the money that is wasted on flowers (that die anyway) going out and doing something fun with the money.  I do like diamonds alot, as I love to see things sparkle, but think they are overrated.  They aren't even rare, so I don't see why they should cost so much.  (A ruby is actually more rare than a diamond and costs less.  It's all about the marketing) It is much funner going out to the movies, an amusement park or museum and doing something fun than being wined and dined.
