Everyone thinks I'm smart, that I'll have no trouble succeeding in the world, but thtat's not true. I make average grades, and I never study and I have no ambition, I don't get how I can be smart if I do all these stupid things.

Why do they think you are smart? Do you frequently answer questions in class and get them right? Do you usually get good grades? Was there one time (or several times) you did well in a test and suddenly everyone called you smart? Do you look smart? (Like do you hold yourself in a certain way?) Do you speak in a certain way? (I know they are strange questions, but I find that people tend to pick up on certain things about you and start creating images of what you'll be like.)

I feel like this almost everyday. People think I should be some entrepreneurial wizard with my whole life planned out and my goals set straight. The truth is, I don't even know what I want to do with my life. And it hurts that no-one knows this. It just goes to show that comments don't always have to be negative to have a negative impact on someone's emotional well-being and self-esteem.

But don't worry people make assumptions all the time without bothering to find out the truth. (This part of why I hate human beings.) Just ignore them and let them think what they want to think. But you should continue doing what you do - whatever it is. Do you have others you can talk to?
