This story is going to come off as me being totally egotistical, but considering the group is "not easily impressed" so be it.  I went into a jewelry store yesterday to drop off a ring my wife wanted an estimate for repair on.  She said take a look at engagement rings.  She is ready for a replacement.  She says hers is cracked and she is ready for something bigger.  I have offered her a replacement before, but she had always opted for some other new piece.

So I go into the store and tell the sales clerk what I am interested in.  She says prepare to be impressed.  I told her I don't impress easily.  We started at one karet then looked at some nice 11/2 karet and I settle on a 11/4.  It is not often I am willing to spend over $5,000 on something but that is what it will take to impress my wife.  Last year I bought her this standing jewelry box that is over 3 feet  tall which holds all  of her jewelry.  I counted last night she has over 20 precious stone rings.  Then there are the necklaces, braclets and ear rings.  That was the last big purchase a few years ago, large diamond earrings.  So this store had some nice stuff, but it was stuff that would fit in with what she already had.  No big deal
