To be honest, the whole dating fixation amazes me. Sure it's nice and all, but well, it gets old. Annoying, even, when you meet someone and they instantly switch to talking about wanting a significant other. I don't mind romance and dating, but I feel people really undervalue friendships and need to learn to appreciate those better, and realize we don't need some "other" to make up happy.

Considering how rarely one meets the person one is writing to on the Internet, expecting to get a date via a social network is fairly unlikely.

seriously i love meeting new people making new friends but 9 out of 10 times my friendship is not enough they want more they hate being alone and love the friendship we just started that they talk more and more of wanting a girl like me and wanting this and that and why i stay where i am instead of being with them. come on do you want to lose every friendship because you are desperately looking for another to fill what you think is an empty space.
