Too Smart/too Dumb

I never fit. In grade school I consistantly read 4 grades above myself, but struggled with even basic math. I was too verbal to fit with my age-mates, too young to fit with my intelectual peers, and a constant irritation to my teachers who thought that any kid who was THAT good with words had to be slacking to flunk math!

I also just never cared about the stuff other kids were into. Many of the shows they watched I was not allowed to see. When other girls were experimenting with hair and makeup, I only cared about being reasonably tidy.

Even if I hadn't had any of that going on, my family moved a lot, so I was forever the "new girl".

Even if that hadn't been happening, I am big-boned and *ahem* developed early. I hit my adult height of just shy of 6 feet before I was 15.

So yeah, I was never like the rest of the herd.

Minnie, I've gotten to care enough about clothes to know what works on my figure and looks good...but there just are not many 6-foot tall women with human-sized proportions out there so what style I have is my own. And usually involves blue jeans!

ACH - a woman after me own hart!
I still don't care about clothes!! They bore the bejaysus out of me!
(And I have no idea why I'm typing in an Irish accent! I'm not Irish!)
Being different rocks!
Viva la difference!

I think...being different is something special.
Being like the rest of the herd is not something a person should be proud of.
I can relate with you on those elementary experiences :P
Just be proud of who you are! :)
