Some People Enjoy Being Ignorant

I don't follow the mold of a stereotypical black man.  Everyone knows the stereotypical black man portrayed in television.  Loud, obnoxious, street smart and book foolish.  I have always been soft spoken and the years of education I have invested in myself come through in my speech and writing.  Still people who don't know me get defensive when they see me.  Maybe it's my size.  Who is to say?  I jog several times a week and I tend to jog in an affluent neighborhood one because it quiet, two because it's safe for jogging anytime day or night and lastly because the houses are breathtaking.  The last time I ran there I passed a woman with a standard poodle. I gave her plenty of room but in spite of that she clutched her dog as if my presence in the neighborhood meant I was going to steal it.  Personally, I'm more partial to a lab or a golden myself and I tend to buy my dogs.  I passed her and she immediately began trotting down the street.  Oh well, some people enjoy ignorance.
