Fortifications

When I moved out of my parents' house into my own place, a small, one room studio apartment, I left behind plenty of people who had threatnened me and my life. They have not been told where I live, and the few who do know have been explicitly warned not to let it slip.

Nonetheless, I have unobtrusively stashed items I can use as weapons around my apartment, just in case. A walking stick that hangs on one side of a bookcase, an ice pick hanging on the inside of a closet door, a riding crop buried in my sock bucket... and more.

If they find me, if they ever come a-knocking, I'll be ready.
