I Am Peruvian
I love being Peruvian. Everything about it; the culture, the food, the music, the people.
My dad came to the United States in his early 20's to make a better living and help out his parents with his 11 siblings back in Peru. He used to work as a "marino mercante" in boats traveling through out South America and the United States. One day however, he decided it was time for a better life. At the young age of 21 he stayed in the United States, alone, and began a life.
Long story short, a marriage and 3 boys later he had me :] the only girl.
We would constantly go to Peru, for a few years almost every summer, and I've grown attached to the country, almost as if it were my homeland. I love it there and my dad has always made sure his kids never lost sight of their roots, making us speak spanish only at home and like I said before constantly taking us to Peru among other things.
All 12 sibling now live here, but the rest of the family is over there and it makes it that much more of a special place for me.
Thanks for reading my "Story", if that's what you want to call it,
QUE VIVA EL PERU!
